My Top Higher-Budget Courses in the Okanagan
Each year, golf gets more expensive. I’m always chasing great golf at a fair price, but sometimes you want the premium experience. These are my top courses in the Okanagan when you are ready to splurge a little. I added Tobiano at the end as a bonus since it is in Kamloops.
Predator Ridge (Vernon)
Two distinct championship courses in one place. The Ridge Course brings big Okanagan Lake views and modern shaping. The Predator Course brings a firmer, links-inspired feel with fescue, movement, and shot-making. The practice setup is strong, the conditioning is consistent, and the resort perks make a full day out of it.
Why I splurge here
-
Variety in one stop with The Ridge and The Predator
-
Resort experience with on-site food, practice, and amenities
-
Reliable conditioning and memorable views
Pro tip
Book one course in the morning and the other in the afternoon for a true Pred Day.
Tower Ranch (Kelowna)
High in the hills above Kelowna, Tower Ranch is a Thomas McBroom design with bold lines, dramatic elevation, and fast, true greens. It rewards confident tee balls and smart angles. The valley views are unreal and the risk-reward choices keep you engaged all round.
Why I splurge here
-
Architect pedigree and a strategic layout
-
Quick greens and pure surfaces
-
Big Okanagan views from tee to green
Pro tip
Play conservative off the tee on your first visit. The smarter line usually beats the longer one.

The Rise (Vernon)
Carved into the hillside 1,000 feet above Okanagan Lake, The Rise is a Fred Couples and Gene Bates design with generous landing areas, strong par 3s, and panoramic views. It feels like a mountain course that still gives you room to play.
Why I splurge here
-
Signature design team with a playable challenge
-
Elevation, scenery, and variety across the card
-
Multiple tee options so everyone in your group can enjoy it
Pro tip
Club up into the wind on the exposed holes. The view can trick your depth perception.
Bonus outside the Okanagan: Tobiano (Kamloops)
Not Okanagan, but worth the day trip when you want a big-ticket round. Tobiano sits above Kamloops Lake with dramatic carries, rugged shaping, and that bucket list feel. It is one of those courses you remember for a long time.
Why I splurge here
-
Show-stopper scenery and engaging shot values
-
Consistently ranked among Canada’s best
-
A destination round that feels special
Pro tip
Pick solid targets on the par 3s. The visuals can pull you long or short if you aim at the wrong spot.
